She makes all kinds of really unique items from hot and cold Starbucks cups to trinket trays and straw toppers. She customizes everything for her customers and we are looking forward to sharing with you. She's made us some really cool cups with our logo on them and we'll be sharing those on our social media pages and something else from Lisa. She created an exclusive code just for you use the code does love 15 to say 15% off of any order. That's D I S L O V E. One five to say 15% and I will make sure to put that in the show notes as well to make it very easy for you to go check out her shop and get something for yourself to use at home or on your next Disney trip. So before we get to our interview with Lisa, we are going to be today talking about milkshakes on the show, her cute cups and straws inspired today's topic. So I'm hoping that we can give you some inspiration of some of the best milkshakes to try at Walt Disney world. And as of recording, we are assuming most of these milkshakes will still be available in the parks and at the various resorts when the restaurants are all back open. So we're going to start in the re in the parks, which seems the most natural to me and we're going to go with some very classic. So we're going to go from the parks. We're talking about the resorts and also at Disney Springs, but we're going to start in the magic kingdom, which is kind of where you start a lot of things when it comes to Disney. And at the Plaza restaurant. So this is right on main street at the end of main street. You go to the right as you're heading towards tomorrow land and you have the Plaza restaurant, great place for burgers and sandwiches and things like that. But one of the things that most people may not know is they have like those classic milkshake flavors, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint and they served but they are all you can enjoy. So that means you could go into here and have one, two, three, four. Um, so we've had those over the years when we've gone to the, to the park and had lunch or dinner at the Plaza. So it's always a great option if you're a real big milkshake Glover and you just want to have your ch your film, definitely check out the Plaza restaurant at magic kingdom. And we were there at a right before a Mickey's very Merry Kristmas party not too long ago. But you know what? Neither one of us got a milkshake that time. I'm not really a milkshake guy. No. I think some of these though you'll like that are on this list. Well let's see where we get to them now. The second one that is also at the parks is that fifties prime time cafe and this is one I would say I'm not a big ice cream person in general. I would typically pick like the cupcakes or some of those other sort of cake and brownie sort of things, but this is a milkshake that I've enjoyed on quite a few occasions and it's at fifties prime time cafe at Disney's Hollywood studios. It's the peanut butter and jelly milkshake so this is really great. You can go in a couple of things. You can go in and just go to the bar at the restaurant and enjoy the milkshake or when you're dining in you can get it and it's a classic peanut butter and jelly flavor. I've had it several times. I always enjoy it. I don't even know if you try mine. If you, did you target a peanut butter and jelly milkshake. I though recently found the recipe online and I told Kris, we are definitely going to be making those at home sometime soon and that's a good idea. You know what, I'll actually put the link to the recipe for that peanut butter and jelly milkshake that was recently shared on the, on the Disney parks blog. Now moving a little bit further away, but in the same park at the scifi dining theater restaurant, they're known for some really great milkshakes as well. They of course have classic sort of diner food and they have some specialty ones a little bit step up from what you would have like at the Plaza they have. Here's something that you would like, Kris, save an Oreo cookie milkshake. Oh, that sounds really good. Yeah, and then of course they have chocolate and vanilla and they have those. Of course, I would suggest getting them with one of their great sandwiches if you're[inaudible]. It's always really great to enjoy those and I've had some milkshakes there over the years and if you've not been to that restaurant, it's super cool. You get to sit in the cars. It looks like you're at a drive in movie theater. And I know a lot of places where people live, you don't have access to those. We have a really nice drive in theater by us, but I know a lot of people aren't fortunate so it gives you a chance to experience that as well. So those are kind of the highlights of the milkshakes at the park. You will find them at other stands and carts throughout the different various parks, whether it be magic kingdom and beyond. But those are kind of the top ones that you would want to look for if you were at the park. So again, Plaza fifties prime time or scifi dine-in as we move a little bit further away from the parks, we're gonna look at the resorts. One of the resorts that has some really cool milkshakes and we stayed here within the last two years is the all star movies at their world premier food court. And there's one I think that I would like a lot. And then there's one on this list that I think Kris would enjoy a lot. So at their ice cream in their food court. If you go up to the section that has the ice cream, they have several different really cool milkshakes. And the first one is a chocolate covered strawberry milkshake in. These are ones that have all the extra toppings on top. Just ooey gooey stuff overflowing. I think I would really like the chocolate covered strawberry one. The second one, which I think this is one that's up your alley, Kris, it reminds me of when you get ice cream, when we go out to places, this steam scene, scene stealer, milkshake man, that's the most it. So it has, it's based with vanilla ice cream, but it has cookie dough, chocolate sprinkles and then on top, besides like whipped cream in there, it has a chocolate covered chocolate chip cookie that's placed on top, sounds really good. And you love chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip cookie dough and all that. And another really delicious one that they have at all star movies is called the cliffhanger. It's kind of a classic chocolate milkshake, but it has a whole slice of chocolate cake on top and chocolate syrup. So I love, I think the chocolate strawberry one or the cliffhanger. It would be a toss up for me. Which one I would like. So those are some great options at the Allstar movies. I think next time that we stay there we've been staying at some of the value resorts recently since they've had some of the, some safe had some of the recent upgrades. So next time we say all-star movies, I think Kris will get that scene stealer and I'll probably, well I might lean towards that cliffhanger one. Oh that sounds really good. Another resort that's really known for their milkshakes and really a lot of their different ice cream concoctions is at um, yacht and beach club. If you go over to beaches and cream and we've eaten here quite a bit at beaches and cream, we've had everything from the kitchen sink get it without me. I scream, it's an inside joke between us. Um, and we've had like some of their peanut butter chocolate, um, options and then they have some really great milkshakes there as well. One that looks really fun, especially if you have any little ones with you is the Mickey confetti milkshake. It has. It's a vanilla milkshake, has rainbow sprinkles. It's topped with a rainbow confetti cupcake and it's served in a souvenir cup. Actually all of them at beaches and cream or in souvenir cups. Here's another one you might like Kris. It's a chocolate brownie milkshake. It's chocolate brownie. Well chocolate milkshake with ooey gooey brownie and chocolate serving shavings on top. So it has like a full brownie on top with chocolate shavings. Sounds really good. And then this one, I'm not a big cotton candy person. Are you a big deal like cotton candy? Very much. No, thank you. Well if you have, I know a lot of kids that like cotton candy a lot. They have the storm along shake, it's a cotton candy shake, tapped with a lifesaver donut, served in a souvenir cup as well. And then finally they have a strawberry mini milkshake. This one's cute. It has like, it has a chocolate strawberry mini cupcake on top and it's a strawberry milkshake with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. So those are the ones that are at beaches and cream. So if you're looking for so great milkshakes at any of the resorts, I w my two's top suggestions would be all star movies and beaches and cream over at yacht and beach club. Next we're going to move over to somewhere that Kris likes to visit when we're at Disney Springs. Where do you like to go get treats at Disney Springs. Oh, the gear deli soda phone. Yes. Yeah. So at the soda fountain and chocolate shop, they have one that I think would be right up Kris's alley and I think we might've had this years ago. It's a sea salt caramel quake shake and that has of course their classic sea salt, chocolate, Carmel. It has, um, they infuse their whole thing with a chocolate bar. It's topped with fresh banana and then it has the sea salt in the Ghirardelli caramel on it. So it sounds really tasty. And then at planet Hollywood, I've seen pictures of these and if you spend very much time following any of the different food people on Instagram or another social media platform, you'll see some of the really over the top milkshakes at planet Hollywood. They have two different ones that are kind of vary a little bit. They have different flavors of what are called the big dipper shakes and then they also have the supernova shakes, so the big dipper or kind of those classic vanilla chocolate strawberry, but they're just lots of toppings. It really big. The supernova shakes are, they have one that's called a strawberry big bang, a cosmic cotton candy in a chocolate comment. So they have all kinds of really big full-sized toppings on these. So like the chocolate comment has a whole piece of that cosmic cotton candy has a huge lollipop and I'm sorry, the chocolate comment has a brownie. The strawberry big bang has a full slice of cake. These are huge. They look really cool. What I've heard though is that they don't taste as good as the big dipper ones, that the big dipper shakes that they have at plenty of Hollywood are a little bit tastier. But I think if you're looking for something fun, really wow people, especially little kids, you might want to check out those supernova shakes at planet Hollywood. Now, something that I would like, and it's, I'm going to have this as an honorable mention because it's only been offered in the fall at Wolfgang puck, which is also at Disney Springs. If you go down there, they have a carrot cake milkshake. Now Kris isn't really into carrot cake too much I don't think, but I get like the carrot cake cookie at Disney Hollywood studios. I like carrot cake at some of the different resort hotels, but this one has a carrot cake gelato and it's topped with a carrot cake cupcake that has cream cheese frosting. I know. What do you think about a carrot cake milkshake visually sounds really good. Does it? Yeah, especially like the cream cheese I think would be a nice mix. So those are kind of our top overview of the different milkshakes. If you're looking for a sweet, cold treat when you're at the parks, at Disney Springs or at some of the resorts. Those are our recommendations for the best milkshakes and I also like to thank the Disney food blog and Disney tips.com for some of their recommendations. I was able to incorporate into some of my own research as well, so that was really awesome to see all of those. I look forward to try. I've had some of these but I look forward to trying many and more of these on future trips and hope that you will enjoy them as well. So up next we're going to get our interview with Lisa so you can hear all about her great shop.

Speaker 2:

We would like to welcome Lisa to the show. Lisa sh shop is custom boutique by Lisa and she has all kinds of great cups and mugs and she has straw toppers and she has been happily married for 25 years. They have been going to Disney since their honeymoon. They have three kids, including their daughter, Abby, who is her business partner and her inner shops. So we'd like to welcome Lisa to the show and Marengo when I said, good morning Kris, it's so nice to be with you today. Thank you. So we always like to start off with an icebreaker and this week what we're wanting to find out is what is your favorite quick service restaurant in any of the Disney parks? Oh boy. That would definitely have to be the York shore chip shop over at Epcot. Oh yes. That place is just my favorite stuff. Every time we go. Um, I have to make at least a yearly trip out there just to get their chips. Yes, for sure. And that's the thing. So many great options on the world showcase. It's hard. You have to really have a hopper pass to that. You can get, get it all in. Yeah, just go over there to eat. So if you could tell us a little bit about your business and what sorts of products that you offer connected to Disney. Okay. So we are a small business that is on STC, Facebook and Instagram. We custom make a decorated basically Starbucks product. So Starbucks, um, reusable cups, water bottles. Um, we will leak out the really nice plastic or glass ones for people if that's what they want, we'd sit down with them. Um, we also will make vinyls, so if you want, you don't want to send me your item and you want me to send you the vinyl, I'll do the vinyl work. You can put it on your own product because I know a lot of people have, you know, thermal flasks and things like that that they love and they just want to be California. So I'll make the decals for it. Oh, cool. Um, and it's a lot cheaper than, you know, buying the cup for me and all that stuff. Um, but basically you just give me a design that you want and a lot of people send me backpacks with, they thought from lounge fly and I design a cup around it. That's my last few commissions have been stuff like that. But I also have traditional designs like the castle and the characters and you know, the Micky fireworks. Um, we work with all sorts of different types of mediums, whether it's glitter or foil, but the real fun is, is bringing the person's personality into their design. So we really work with people, um, to make sure that they get exactly what they're looking for. Um, and that's just on the cuff end of it. Um, we also do it in heat transfer for like t-shirts. We do a lot of personalization where people want to add Mickey touches to like their senior sweatshirts. We got a lot of that this year, you know, cause the senior sweatshirts will have a school design and they'll have a name, but they might want, you know, like their, their favorite character or something like that. And so we'll, they'll send it to us, we add the heat transfer for what they're looking for, um, and send it back to them. Wow. That's very cool. What would you think is kind of your most unique custom item that you've done? Oh, I did a mermaid her, I'm a designer in New York. Um, she sent me an image of what she wanted. Um, it was about 15 layers of vinyl on top, um, with Swarovski gems and the crown. Um, but it was, I had to take an image and make it into a three D image, so like the vinyl and it was absolutely beautiful. Um, it's something I won't make again, probably because it was so intense that I had to make two of these mermaids. Um, but it was holographic. It had all sorts of, you know, like scales and things like that, but it was a really amazing project to work on and really one of my favorites until those stained glass window when I just did for bell. Oh my goodness. Oh, from like, yeah. So be our guests. I have a stained glass cup. I did the Belrose under the dome and that, that one came out of a customer request in it. It just, it was, it was easy, but it was beautiful and it has all sorts of layers. I think I sent a picture of it to you, but it was really, it's my most favorite project right now. We'll make sure to share that picture as well with our listeners.

Speaker 1:

So with it, you know, really, what was the motivation for you to start your business?

Speaker 2:

You know, I've always, I'm always been really artsy. Um, and I bought the cricket with the intention of just making things for myself and then it was like, Oh, so and so would really love this because they have a, you know, a passion for this or passion for that. And so I started just kind of doing it for fun and gifting it and everyone's like, you know, do you want to sell this? I'm like, no, I don't want to sell this. And then I was like, Oh, but then if I paid back the cost of my cricket, my husband would love me for it. I'll just do it just to pay back my cricket and then my husband will be happy that I, you know, and then I made that my investment in the machine and I just loved doing it so much. You're working with different Disney fans, so the Disney community really is pretty amazing. Oh yes, for sure. Yeah. They really, they really get together and communicate and are very positive people overall. Um, and uh, because I'm such a Disney fanatic, it was, uh, you know, it was a great connection for me

Speaker 1:

for sure. And then could you tell us how do you think your products can add Disney magic to our listeners lives?

Speaker 2:

You know, there's a lot of obscure characters that people love, um, segment. And sometimes it's a lot of characters. Disney does not put into production. They don't make it into a theme, you know, frozen. And some of those bigger ones, they will, they will turn out products all day long. But the sidekicks and these lesser known characters, like I love EMA and crunk, they crack me up. I will watch that movie over and over, but you won't see them on anything ever on anything anymore because it's just not prominent. So what I try to do is take those, those side items that people would love to have in their lives and put it into, into production for them and to make it onto a decal or a cup or a tumbler or something like that. And then our new line is going to be the insulated wine tumblers and making them fun little phrases for the adults because Disney is not just for kids.

Speaker 1:

That's for sure. Now, what do you think is the most obscure character that you've had a request for?

Speaker 2:

Mmm. Cruella de Vil. I just did one for her. Um, so the whole cup is covered in Dalmatian spots and Cruella and all her amazing glory. Um, and they wanted a color changing element to it. And so I made a dog tagging color out of the color changing with the name on her Sonata. Oh wow. That's very cool. Yeah. I, you know, I don't get very many obscure requests. Some people pretty stick mainstream, even though I always put it out there that that's what we, that's what we love to do, is to, to bring those obscure items to life. Um, so I'm, I'm waiting and ready for it. Now, what is your most popular design? Do you have a design that you sell the most of or that you get the most requests for? Oh, a hundred percent baby Yoda. My goodness. Oh yeah, for sure. What's your personal favorite designer? Winnie the Pooh. I, I do Winnie the Pooh all day long and I love it because he's just, he's just a wonderful character. The story is amazing and it's personal to me, you know, was one of my favorite stories as kids. So, um, I love doing the Winnie the Pooh stuff.

Speaker 1:

Please. Where can people find you online? I know you mentioned you have an Etsy in Facebook, but what are those websites?

Speaker 2:

So it's custom boutique by Lisa and it's[inaudible]. Um, my Facebook and Instagram are an Etsy shop. All have the same name. I was fortunate enough to get that all to connect. So yeah, just custom boutique by Lisa. Um, our website should be arriving, hopefully by late may. Cross your fingers. We'll see how that goes. Um, but in the meantime, yeah, but on Etsy, Facebook or Instagram, you can find this by custom botique by Lisa

Speaker 1:

Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:

Thank you so much Kris. Thank you so much Vanessa. It was a pleasure being with you.

Speaker 1:

Thank you again to Lisa for joining us on this episode. And as a reminder, she has created an exclusive code for our listeners. Yes. And remember it's digital of 15 to say 50% of any order dis L O V E 15 to say 15% off any order. Use that code today. Yes, for sure. And I put that in our show notes for you to have easy access along with the link right to our shop. And of course we're going to round out today's episode with our two minute trivia and our wisdom from Walt quote. So Kris, you are up with the trivia. Okay, Vanessa, this is going to be a greater or less than, okay, so you know those iconic Mickey bars in the parks. Vanilla ice cream chocolate coating in the shape of a Mickey head. And I just had my first one last year. Wow. Awesome. Now this will be for just Disney in general. We'll use the American, it's the American Disney, I believe. How many Mickey bars are sold more or less than 3 million per year? You said American Disney. Do you mean Disney world? Disney land. Disney world. Disney land of course. Who doesn't? Who does it refer to it as? American Disney. Okay. Greater than or less than 3 million. Correct? 3 million bars. Oh, greater than. Oh yeah, I got that right. That's easy. Okay, well no, that's not bad. So how many does it tell you how many there was total according to all years. Dot net. And this was from right Tobar of 2019 3.3 million. Mickey bars are sold it. Wow. Yeah. If you get a chance to go to any of the after hours parties, which we've reviewed the magic kingdom and the animal kingdom ones, you can have your fill Mickey bars. Did you have someone? We were at the animal kingdom one. I didn't have Mickey, but I had an ice cream sandwich. No, I just, it was okay. I just know I didn't have a Mickey bar. I had ice cream sandwiches. Yeah, he likes those with the cookies and cream. Well that's the thing too. I always, for whatever reason, and it must have been in a dream, but I had a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with cookies and cream ice cream and it was the best. And I remember at our our, um, vowel renewal, I told her the only thing I wanted, I said, I want to have cookie sandwiches. No, they had cookies and they had ice cream. It wasn't the same. I mean it was, it was like Keebler cookies from the store and they ended up going out and getting me two cookies. But it just, you can't ever replace the magic of the first one. The ample Hills Creamery on the boardwalk makes your own ice cream sandwich with sugar cookies or chocolate chips chip cookie. And I remember like, and then what's that place I go to? That's I'm sleepy hollow at magic kingdom. They went, they hit a chiro one for awhile. Is that good? Yeah, it's not bad. I mean real big true guy, but I dunno, you just, you're always chasing that first fix. Like I hit the first ice cream sandwich at Disney. It was so good. And ever since then I've been trying to replicate that magic and I just have not been able to do it. Well that's too bad. Maybe one day your dream will true. All right. And as always, we're going to end with our wisdom from Walt quote and I think especially as we, this episode is coming out in May, 2020 when the parks are still closed at this point. It kind of reminded, this quote reminds me of how Disney world and Disneyland and all the parks around the world rarely represent a great escape for people to escape the hardships and the realities of the world. And so this quote says, I don't want the public to see the world they live in when they're in the park. I want to feel that they're in another world. And that's so true. When you walk, we always talk about the Disney bubble as you go through the Gates or you walk or you walk into a park. It's a much different world and a new experience. And I look forward to seeing all of those great times that all of you are going to have in the park and all of us, and that we will continue to have in the parks for years to come. So thank you so much for joining us on this episode of the does love podcast with Vanessa and Kris. I'm Vanessa and I'm Kris
