Speaker 1:

Welcome to the dental up podcast with Vanessa and Kris. I'm Vanessa Ferguson. Kris Johns, we would like to welcome you to show number 19 and for any listeners joining us for the first time, our show features things we love it Disney and in every episode we typically have a guest who creates Disney magic for our listeners at home or on their Disney vacation from vacation planners to product producers. Our guests can bring Disney magic into your life. As a reminder to our listeners, we always appreciate reviews on apple podcast. We especially like those five star reviews. We will, if you leave one of those, we will give you a shout out on a future episode of the podcast and of course we also appreciate those five star customer ratings. We have gotten several of those lately and we greatly appreciate those as well and so now on with today's show today we are going to be going over all the great spots to get specialty non alcoholic drinks from coffees, two milkshakes and beyond and this kind of goes along with our guests who will be joining us later today. In today's episode, we will be joined by Jessica from happy hour, happy hour, cozy company. She works in the political world and is passionate about her business where she designed custom Disney koozies for your favorite drinks at the parks or at home. So today we're gonna talk about a lot of those different products as we talked, as I mentioned earlier. And to get started we're going to talk about Matt, really our realm of, of drinks that when we're down at the park, but we're going to talk about coffee and Kris, unfortunately your favorite coffee places not available at Disney. It is not. Would you like to share with our listeners your favorite coffee place? Tim Horton's extra large for cream to sugar. So down at Disney we're going to talk about the two available options that are there right now. So we have Joffrey's coffee and Joffrey's is the official specialty coffee of the Walt Disney resort in Florida and then Disneyland in California. And so what this means is it served at the park kiosks in restaurants and as well as all the resort hotels. So if you are familiar with them, they have a bunch of different flavors. I know when I was there last fall I bought for my dad, they had a special 90th anniversary or 90th birthday, Mickey blend and they said it was really great. So they offer a lot of different options. They have ones that are at the different resorts that are specific to different chefs use them. Um, so they have like create unique blends for the different restaurants and stuff like that. So when you're looking for a job brief coffee and I can tell you we have had a few things from Joffrey's. We've gotten some stuff at some of the kiosks in the park and even when you're there for our site visit for our vow renewal, even got some Disney bought us Joffrey's. So, just nice things that you can pick up. They do have, they're also known for, I've seen pictures and I'm going to have to try it one time. They have giant doughnuts at the Joffrey, um, kiosks. So we may have to try that. Donuts is more my realm over the coffee, but they have kiosks throughout Magic Kingdom Park. Um, well they have one in tomorrow land and then throughout the magic kingdom area. So at the resort to it contemporary resort, they have several ones that they have one at ticket and transportation center. They also are in the restaurants at the monorail and magic kingdom resorts in Epcot. They have some throughout the world showcase at the monorail station. Also at other spots throughout the park. I'll post a link with a listing of all the different places that you can get Joffrey's. They're also at Hollywood studios or by Pixar place or by the tower of terror animal kingdom. They have kiosk right outside the park. And so they have a lot of great options. And as I mentioned, they're at a lot of those theme park restaurants as well. And if you're out at Disney springs, you can go to, they have several kiosks there and they're in some of the restaurants as well. Um, so Joffrey's is kind of everywhere. You can also get that at Blizzard beach Tiesman lagoon. So lots of different options to get your job freeze coffee. Kris, what is the other brand of coffee that you can find it while Disney world? Starbucks. Yes. So an interesting thing about Starbucks, Starbucks has locations throughout the parks, but they are not, they don't have like the name Starbucks across the front. Did you realize that Kris had you notice it? I mean to me people walk out with a Starbucks cup right into a Starbucks, right? So it is Starbucks, but when you're at magic kingdom instead of just saying Starbucks, it's the main street bakery. So that's been converted over. It is a Starbucks that they still sell pastries and things in that and of course it's right on the right hand side as you're walking down main street at Epcot. Starbucks, if you're looking for your Starbucks fix is at is called Fountain view and it's located to the right of the main fountain just after you've walked under spaceship Earth at Hollywood studios. It's the trolley car cafe and it's right on Hollywood boulevard, like at the corner of Hollywood and sunset boulevard. And I can tell you I've been here but not for, for coffee. I love the carrot cake cookie that used to be at the writer's stop in when that closed, they did end up moving this cookie over to the trolley car cafe. And so I picked that up there. In fact, when I was there with a friend in October, we were at Hollywood studios before I was leaving to go get on magical express and I went in there and I got myself a cookie to take with me on my flight. Um, so at Hollywood studios that's where you can find Starbucks and then at animal kingdom is called creature comforts and that's located to the left just before the bridge into the Africa section. And I think Kris, did you go to Starbucks animal kingdom with our family when we are there? Of course I did. You did. So did you actually have a Starbucks drink? Were you able to use snap credits there? I don't remember. I was going to say as far as I've read, you can use Starbucks credit or you can use snap credit for most of the Starbucks specialty drinks. I know when I was there with my friend, um, last fall she did that. I don't know if there's any restrictions that, as you know with the dining plan you always have to check, but they would have this snack logo on those options on the menu. And then at Disney springs, just like with Joffrey's, there are two locations. There's a small location near the world of Disney store and a really big one down by the water near the AMC Disney springs 24 theater. So those are the spots where you can find either the Joffrey's coffee or where you can find the Starbucks coffee. So either way I would say, and we're not really big Starbucks fan just because we're not, I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but I've seen really great drinks from both of these vendors and Disney. So definitely you can get whatever coffee or looking for specialty drinks you're looking for. Now we're going to go talking about some of our personal favorites in terms of drinks and I kinda took liberties and made this list for Kris that I think he would agree with me on some of these. Um, the first one is the legal coy juice and this, this has passion fruit, orange juice in guava juice. Where did we have this drink? Oh, at our wedding? Yes. Yeah, so this is, I guess, yeah, we did have this at our brunch for our wedding. It's available at the Polynesian. There's also some restaurants at animal kingdom at the park and at the lodge. And one thing is that it might not always be called Lila cord juice. It sometimes has other names, so if you're looking for it though, it's passion fruit, orange juice, and guava juice. And it's really good. I've had at Kona cafe for breakfast, I of course had it at our vow renewal and there are, I've heard that you can also sometimes hadn't see the served at the magic kingdom dessert party. Now another thing that we really like, our Dole whip flows. Now I personally liked the floats because they add the pineapple juice to it. Of course you can get these at magic kingdom and at the Polynesian resort at pineapple alumni. I don't know. You usually have some in mind. Do you like the dove look floats? Correct. They're not bad. I think he just enjoys drinking some of mine. Another favorite nonalcoholic drink that I enjoy and you don't know if Kris had one of these when we were there or not, but peanut butter and Jelly milkshake[inaudible] primetime cafe. It was really tasty. I like peanut butter and Jelly anyways, I wouldn't say I'm eat them all the time, but I really enjoyed this amount of shake at 50s Primetime cafe and then one that we've had. It's been awhile and Kris probably again won't remember this but he seemed to enjoy it at the time and I have a picture of him with it so I know he enjoyed it was lit. Fuse brew on this was at[inaudible] tavern is a mix of frozen apple juice that has a little bit of toasted marshmallow and it's topped with a passion fruit mango foam. And when we were there for one of our Disney bride meetups, we went to Gaston's Tavern and we had some drinks. There is a very hot day in my personal opinion. We did just recently visit universal studios and this is much better than butter beer and in Diagon alley. So we enjoyed that. That's another personal favorite. So that's at magic kingdom. And then of course the 50s prime time cafe, I don't think I mentioned, but that is at Hollywood studios. If you're not familiar with now I found some other drinks that I think Kris and I may like to try in the future now. We recently, when we were just there earlier this spring, we ate dinner at the plaza restaurant. I will say the food was not as good as it has been in the past. No, no. But here's something that I didn't realize at lunch or dinner. You can have all you care to enjoin milkshakes and out of these flavors you're allowed to have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, or men. And then of course they come with whipped cream. Yeah. And they have all you can drink milkshake. So I don't know if that, would that change your mind and go back to plants if you could have more than one milkshake.

Speaker 2:

And since since calories do that existed. Disney. That's true. Okay. So we'll have keep

Speaker 1:

that in mind. So that's something I'd like to try. And then I have a few suggestions that I found on Disney dining.com so I would definitely, I've put these on my list and I suggest that you put these on your list to try as well. The first is mystic portal punch. So this is a new drink that was added to toy story land at Woody's lunchbox. I have eaten at what he's lunchbox. Kris hasn't gotten a chance to go to toy story land yet, but this drink sounds interesting. It's a mix of power, a berry blast with lemon lime in Tangerine. So people say that it's really good and that, and you can also get it in a souvenir souvenir aliens tipper, which Kris always liked. Cool Cups. So that might be something to try out. And then at 50[inaudible] primetime cafe you can get, and I know years ago I had gotten this before, but Kris always like, what do you like to get in your Coke Zero,or in your over your diet coke. Oh, Cherries, cherries. So you can get cherry or vanilla cokes at 50[inaudible] primetime cafe. And we kind of cheat and we like to put that in diet coke, which I know doesn't really work out the best in terms of calorie count, but you can get cherry or vanilla coke at 50[inaudible] primetime cafe. And I have done that. It's just been a long time since I've tried that. And then this one is an Instagram favorite so we may have to try it next time we were down. It's called the night blossom. So this is in Pandora at that Pango Pango Stan. Now this sounds like something we would like. Let me see what you think. It's a mix of lie made with apple in dessert pair tapped with those fruit boba balls like when we get in bubble tea. So it has lie made apple and pear juice topped with fruit flavored bubble ball. Sure. So I thought that was interesting. And here's a few things that if you are on the dining plan, I know sometimes people are a little confused of what sorts of specialty drinks are included, what are not. So on the dining plan, smoothies, shakes, premium hot chocolate, coffee, tea and fountain drinks are all covered on the dining plan as well as of course they now had the addition of certain alcoholic beverages but we're just talking about non alcoholic on this particular show. So you can like where I mentioned that peanut butter and Jelly shake FFTs primetime cafe. We were on the dining plan, we were there and we got that shape yet in lieu of a regular beverage. So you can get those at no additional cost, which is kind of a nice thing. So if you're tired of having ice tea or water or some sort of pop, you can have a smoothie or a shake or some of those other premium drinks. And here's something that I think sounds really good and this is actually a tip that I found on the Disney food blog. They said one of the best like deals in terms of if you're on the dining plan and you want to get like a really great drink as part of a quick service meal at d luck burgers at Disney springs, you can get an our teeth, no milkshake to go with your burger and fries. And that's common on the quick service clinic. What makes it artisinal? I think it's the flavors cause it sounded like they had like cookie flavors and different things rather than just like your standard chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. I wondered how would it be different than like from sonic and other, I'm not sure. It kind of looked like that. We of course have been to do the deluxe burger, but they said that that's kind of a really good deal because it's just on your quick service. Like you're just your counter service so that if you are looking for a really good deal for specialty drink, go get a burger fry and a milkshake and deluxe burger and let us know how it is.

Speaker 3:

Yeah,

Speaker 1:

so now we're going to, we've talked about all these great drinks and what do you want to have when you're at the parks and it's hot and you have a cold drink, what's something that you'd like to have

Speaker 3:

but around your drink? I don't know. The cozy

Speaker 2:

so, oh yeah, so it goes right into, yeah,

Speaker 1:

who are going to be getting on a call a few minutes. We have Jessica from happy hour, Cozy Company and she has lots of awesome cozy. So you use on your specialty drinks at Walt Disney world or if you're looking just to add some reminders of a Disney trip or your favorite Disney character. We're going to get Jessica here on the phone with us in just a few minutes.

Speaker 2:

Well I think many people with these koozies because I, when I'm at Disney I had two problems. First I'm going to get a cold drink. Okay. I drink it too fast. So I have a brain freeze. Yeah, because the drink so cold, my hands get cold. Well look at you solved that problem and so at least I saw one of my brain. That's true. I'm going to still drink it really fast because that's identities tendencies. But you know when you look at these koozies are awesome and it's so again, it's the love of Disney comes out in these products. And so again for myself I want to keep my hand in a regulated temperature and dry. Yes. And so yeah, check out these koozies. Alright, so we are going to get Jessica on the phone.

Speaker 4:

We would like to welcome Jessica with happy hour cozy company to the show. We are super excited to have her on with us. She by day, she works in politics but and she has her business happy hour, cozy company and it's able to bring a little bit of Disney Magic to people's lives, whether you're at the parks or you're at home. And so we are super excited to have Jessica on the show. Welcome to[inaudible].

Speaker 5:

Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to be with you guys this afternoon.

Speaker 4:

We always like to start off with a icebreaker to ask a little bit about your personal connection with Disney. So we wanted to find out from you, what is your favorite park at Walt Disney world?

Speaker 5:

Well, I think that's kind of a loaded question because I mean, I think for everyone it kind of varies. Sure. Um, oh, so right now I would say my favorite park is Hollywood studios just because they're doing a lot with the Pixar movies, like monsters inc and you know, the Incredibles and yeah, with toy store. But I'm definitely come August. It will probably be my least favorite moment. Yes. I believe he avoiding it for a while and then[inaudible] and then obviously magic kingdom is everyone's favorite. I think that's where you feel the most magic. But I would definitely say Hollywood studios. I grew up with, um, story, story, and I always got roped in a roped in, no pun intended with Jesse. My name is Jessica. Oh, yes. Yep. Uh, that's a, a natural link there for me.

Speaker 4:

Right. Have you gotten a chance to be to visit toy story land yet?

Speaker 5:

I have. I've been there twice so far. Okay. I'll be back in April. So yeah, I love it. I'm, I'm hoping that uh, the crowds died down a little bit before galaxies that open. Oh, I can enjoy it with all without all the little kids running around. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Right. Yeah. Cause I have to go. I love it in, Kris hasn't gotten to go yet to see it. So I was there with a friend in the fall, so I'm hoping that he gets to see it before August also. Cause we know, like you said, it's going to get crazy, that's for sure. Yeah. Want to get crazy. Um, the star wars galaxy edge is, I'm not going to star wars. No, you will not see me in line for that neither. So tell us a little bit about your business and the products that you offer connected to Disney.

Speaker 5:

Okay. So, um, I'm sure people can guess by the name that I make. Cozies am I crochet coffee cozies or coffee callers or Koozies? These, however you want to stay at the little little, uh, the little sleeve that slips over your coffee to protect your hand from, you know, your hot drink or you're cold drink. Yes. And they're, they're currently the only product that I offer, but I offer so many designs. I think I'm up to over maybe 175 right now. Holy. Most of them being Disney. So I'd like to offer, um, a ton of variety. Um, I use a cotton yarn so it can be used for hot or cold in the cottons, soaks up the condensation from cold drink. So, oh, I'm a coach.

Speaker 4:

Call me drink though.

Speaker 5:

So you see them on hot drinks and they're great for keeping the condensation all of your cup and they're really good for keeping the ice cold in your cup as well.

Speaker 4:

Oh, nice. Now are they washable or do you need to just spot clean those? How does that work with those with your product?

Speaker 5:

They, they will definitely hold up, um, in the wash if you accidentally leave them in a pocket. I know from experience that I do recommend just to spot washing them. They're, they're pretty durable and the cotton yarn is really great for washcloths so it can definitely be washed. But depending on the design that you pick'em some of'em will hold up better than others, but spot washing is definitely the best way to go.

Speaker 4:

And what are some of the designs that you offer? I mean, I know you have 170 some odd that you mentioned, but what are just, uh, maybe some of your more popular ones?

Speaker 5:

Well, right now I have a, um, a Mickey celebration, um, design. It is an outline of Mickey with the, the hat that you'll see on the, the famous Mickey slippers on Battery Magic Kingdom, right? Yeah. And a lot of, um, the designs that I have are custom designs that you'll only find in my shop. So I've had those, um, you know, done by, I'm an artist Oh, cool. Who draw some of those up. So that was something that I hadn't seen anywhere else and I loved that Mickey Sipper. So I actually had that one commissioned. So, uh, some of them are definitely, um, you need to my shop and I don't strictly offered Disney. I have some, some other ones, different, um, shows I have some from the Gilmore girls and you know, other pop culture.

Speaker 4:

Sure. Yeah. I'm sorry to stay on there and a few of

Speaker 5:

yeah. And Universal. Um, there are just a ton of them really. So like I said, I like to have variety and I take customer requests. I'm always getting new suggestions from customers of what they'd like to see. And that's where some of the odd ball ones that come from.

Speaker 4:

So you do, then you take custom orders as well then you said?

Speaker 5:

I do. Yeah. And I also do, um, logos. So fellow, I'll shop them. They've had me digitize their logos for them and I put them on cozies and I do bulk orders of logo. So it's uh, a different way to advertise them. Your brand or, yeah.

Speaker 4:

Very cool. Now, if I was wanting to do, maybe I'm just buying one that's right on your shop or if I was doing customer, what sort of leeway or lead time do I need for those different types of orders?

Speaker 5:

Normally my turnaround time, about 10 days. Okay. Um, right now I'm, I am about a five to seven. Um, it just really depends because, um, you norm normally with a different types of Disney events, like I saw an uptick in orders for flower and garden and just, you know, I go on kind of a Disney event schedule. So, okay. Um, sometimes there are sooner than others and I do offer, um, you know, rush orders so I can, uh, I can get one out really with any turn, talk raw return time if someone's needing one for a trip or something like that.

Speaker 4:

Okay, great. Well, wonderful. And so what was your inspiration to get into the Koozie business?

Speaker 5:

Well, my, my business kind of took off. Um, whenever I finished my master's degree in 2017, um, in December there I, um, I graduated and then the very next day we went to Disney. And I just had, I was feeling so much Disney magic then and then I came home and was suffering from not only the Disney, the post Disney slump. Yes. But I also didn't know what to do with my free time. I um, I had gone straight from Undergrad to my master's. Yeah, we did that and I didn't know, I just didn't know what to do with myself. I was running out of things to watch on Netflix and I was bored on my mind. So I decided that I was going to find some kind of craft class in my, in my town to go to and I picked crocheting and then I was like, you know, I've seen these, uh, you know, cozies on Instagram and that's the, I think I could do that. So that's what I started with and that's so far the only thing that I have crocheted is Cody and if you wash cloth,

Speaker 4:

sure.

Speaker 5:

My number one thing and I just, after graduating and going straight to Disney, I just decided I wanted to get more involved with Disney and I didn't know how to really do that being so far away from the part. Right. So I decided to start up a shop and I'm, I'm two months away from my one year anniversary with my shop. So I'm really, I've just, um, I've had a blast with it so far and I mean my most favorite part is, is meeting people in the, you know, the online Disney community. Right. That has definitely been, um, more than I could have asked for. I've made so many friends and I'm actually going to Disney in April with a friend that I met, um, who also has a small shop. So. Cool. I just love how the, the community brings everyone together when we can't be in the park.

Speaker 4:

Right? Yeah. We, well, we got married at Disney and we have so many friends that we've met that are other couples that got there, that got married there as well. And we've gone to meetups where like you're talking about, we've met down at the parks, we're going on a cruise later this year. That's all people who got married at Disney. So it really does bring people together. Like you said, that friends that you never would have met otherwise. So it is always absolutely be able to do that. Now I'll add on, I know you mentioned a little bit earlier with your designs. Do you do those all yourself? You mentioned the artists. How does that work with your, with your designs that are on your cozies?

Speaker 5:

I physically make them all myself, but um, the, the design itself, some of them come from artists. Some of them I make myself. Um, it just really depends and if someone comes to me with a custom order, it, it really depends on what it is or how I go about trying to get that for them. But I would say I probably have about 10 in my shop that I have had done from other Disney small shop artists. Oh, cool. Um, that are, are much more talented at drawing than I am. And if I have an idea and I can't really bring it to life evil, they uh, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 4:

So really the sky's the limit. Then if somebody asked for something, if you're not able to help, then you have resources to get that design for them it sounds like.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, absolutely. And those are my favorite, just bringing, you know, someone's idea. Um, it can be, you know, a mash up of Disney movies or you know, it doesn't even have to be Disney. Um, and a lot of the times those are those, those ideas that I get are things that I like to. So then, you know, something new for me as well.

Speaker 4:

Cool. Now how can, you've kind of touched on this a little bit, but how do you think your products add a little Disney magic to your customers' lives and to our listeners' lives? How can they add some,

Speaker 5:

did my idea behind just my, my business name? Um, happy hour. Um, I think that, you know, getting your, your morning coffee in the morning is one of the happiest, happiest hours of the day. Sure. Cause, um, I know for me, my copy kind of brings me to lie. If, so, just, um, that Mike my cup of coffee in the morning, it's such a staple in my day. Right. And throwing a, you know, just a little a crocheted sleeve on it with my favorite, you know, Disney movie or something that reminds me of a special memory in the park or, um, you know, it just brings, you know, a tiny little bit of, of Subtle Disney Magic to your day. And I mean, to me, I, you know, I nursed that copy for a while throughout the day. It's on my desk. So, you know, it's just a subtle way finder. Yeah, absolutely. And a, you know, I know some people like to do the subtle Disney, so I mean you can definitely do it federal or, you know, I have big designs and I have glitzy cozies so I mean you can, you can go big or you can go small. So I just think it's a little tiny every day accessory that you can use at home. But definitely you can, you know, style it around an outfit or no, do a flat lay with it if that's how you like to do your, your Instagrams or how you like to show your Disney style. So yeah, I think it has an even just being like a tiny little accessory. It has a whole range of uses and sure in ways to remind you of Disney.

Speaker 4:

Awesome. And so for our interested listeners, where can they find you online?

Speaker 5:

So mostly I'm on Instagram, that's where I do most of my posting just because it's so much for me to interact with my customers. Right. And you know people who just like my content and honestly that's my, my favorite part of being on social media. Right. So I'm on Instagram at happy hour, cozy co and you can find me on Facebook at happy hour. The company and I am, I have a website and it's www dot happy hour, cozy co.com.

Speaker 4:

Great. In. What we will do is we'll make sure to put a link to your website. We'll tag your social media profiles in our show notes cause we want to make sure that our listeners can find your shop and find your profile and be able to see all your great designs. I know when we were looking through, I have a friend who loves coffee stuff in her birthday's coming up. I'm going to have to get a couple things I think to send out to her. She won't, this'll be her birthday. We'll have passed by the time people hear this so she'll hopefully have them in hand because you really have some really cool things that I think whether you're a hot coffee drinker or a cold drink person, really exciting to be able to add a little bit of Disney and every day.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. And, and I can make them, um, in any size for any cup. The other day I made one to fit, um, a red bull. Can someone,

Speaker 4:

didn't drink coffee? But they were Red Bull fans.

Speaker 5:

They're pretty universal no matter what you're drinking.

Speaker 4:

Very cool. Well. Again, thank you so much Jessica, for joining us today.

Speaker 5:

Thank you so much. I appreciate the opportunity.

Speaker 1:

Brunch to Jessica again for joining us on today's show. We really appreciate her taking time to share about her business. And now we are onto our trivia and our wisdom from Walt quote. Now we are going to change it up a little bit because I found a trivia thing that I wanted to use.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. When I was doing research. So I,

Speaker 1:

I couldn't give that trivia to you to answer. Ask me because I already know the answer. Now I'm thinking Kris is going to have no clue on this and we'll see where it goes. So what brand coffee was served in the parks before the deals in this contract was made was with Joffrey's. That's easy. Folgers.

Speaker 6:

No. Um,

Speaker 1:

and it's not your favorite coffee place either.

Speaker 6:

Okay. Um,

Speaker 2:

best part of waking up the phone and using your cup. It's Folgers. It's not full days. It's a more of an international brand. Uh, Sanka no good try. Do you want me to tell you what to start with? An n? Nestle? Yeah. So nescafe signed Nestle. Wow. Yeah. So they had the contract. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

For many, many years with Disney. And then the Disney ended up breaking that con while they didn't break the contract, the contract ended and then they entered into the contract with Joffrey to become the official specialty drinks.

Speaker 2:

Okay. No, go ahead. Own that label Joffrey's.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. Do you really understand the difference between, I think it's one of those weird things like they have with the marvel stuff and universal is kind of a bat behind the seat coffee where I think now the second part to this,

Speaker 2:

well I can tell you this job is not winning anywhere outside of the park. Right.

Speaker 1:

They do have a lot of great drinks though. And I applaud them for being able to keep the hold their own in the parks. Now this goes into, so we, that question was about Joffrey's. The second part of this question is, where was the first Starbucks location at Walt Disney world?

Speaker 7:
